James Gibb
Managing Director
James has worked in Conformity Assessment since 2002, initially working as Quality Manager before holding various Board positions prior to forming Advanced Certification in 2014
Qualified to audit across a wide spectrum including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, ISO 22000 & ISO 22716, and has conducted audits in 4 continents
In addition to being Technical Director of Advanced Certification, James also sits on the Board of the Association of British Certification Bodies and chairs the Association's technical forum.
In his spare time James enjoys scale model building and can often be seen jogging around the local area in a vain effort to hold back middle aged spread!
John Elen
CEO
Qualified ‘triple badged’ (9001, 14001 and 45001) lead auditor from an automotive/mechanical engineering background who has worked in QEHS disciplines to varying degrees throughout his career both here in the UK and overseas.
John has a natural aptitude for solving problems and being resourceful in the process and uses these attributes to great effect in his day-to-day responsibilities.
Keith Goddard
Compliance Director
Keith's career started in the aviation industry working for 14 years and implemented his first business management system ISO 9001 in 1989, Worked within Business Management Systems 9001, 14001, 45001, and 27001 for 34 years and was a Global Executive Quality Manager for 22 years.
Certification body, senior manager, risk & compliance with 13 years experience ongoing.
Adrian Barnard
CEO
Adrian has a Mechanical Engineering background, originally from the Aerospace, rubber/plastic and super abrasive industries, working as Quality Manager and Product Assurance Manager, before helping to form Advanced Certification as Operations Director in 2014. Working in Conformity assessment since 1990 as a lead auditor and qualified to audit in ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO37301, with audits carried out in over 25 countries on 5 continents.
In his rare spare time Adrian enjoys watching sport as he is now too old to participate and enjoys travelling, with over 44 countries visited to date!

Richard Wynn
Lead Auditor
Richard joined the AC team in early 2022 as one of our Lead Auditors. He has over 30 years’ experience of Audit and Inspection in the Military, Public and Commercial Sectors as well as a broad knowledge of the core standards (9001,14001,45001) and associated management systems.
In his spare time Richard, helps with Military Charities, is a Rugby Coach and enjoys watching sport, cooking and spending time with his family (mostly as a taxi service for his children).
Paula Gregory
Finance Administrator
Paula is our newest recruit and joined AC as our Finance Administrator in the springtime of 2022 following 30+ years spent working in the mortgage industry.
It was time for a change and she wanted to work somewhere where her financial skills were put to good use!
She is an avid rugby fan and former player for St Mary's and now enjoys less time in the scrum and more of a varied fitness regime,
Dan Bishop
Technical Lead
Dan has recently joined the AC team as a Technical Lead, he has over 26 years’ experience of inspections, audits and compliance within the British Army and other certification bodies.
He is qualified to audit across a wide range of standards which includes 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001 & 22301, he has vast experience in Information Security, Health and Social Care as well as a pleather of other industry sectors. Dan has audited all across the globe and worked with interpreters.
In his spare time Dan enjoys the outdoors with his family along with his two dachshunds, he also loves to play Football, Golf and Tennis as well as the occasional run if the weather is nice.
